Hays County Veterans Day Parade

November 8th, 2003

Our Grand Marshal, Bill Waters, will be riding in a WWII era Jeep!  Mr. Joe Bash, of the Military Vehicles Preservation Association-Arrowhead Chapter in Fort Worth, has graciously offered his Jeep as an entry in our parade.

The VFW and the Ladies Auxiliary will both be participating in the parade.  At this point, VFW members will be riding in individual vehicles.

The Ladies Auxiliary will have a float with Boy Scouts from Troop 357 re-enacting the raising of the flag on Iwo-Jima.

The Vietnam Veterans of America and the Hill Country Retired Officers Association will be joining our parade.

Our color guard will be from the San Marcos Baptist Academy.  The 49th Armored Division Band from Camp Mabry will be following the Color Guard.   The Civil Air Patrol from San Marcos will have about 100 uniformed members marching in the parade and the Commemorative Air Force will provide a flyover as in years past.  We will also have Cub Scouts from Pack 116 riding in the parade.
